Watch the Scariest Referee Non-Stoppage of All Time

One of the biggest issues in MMA today is incompetent refereeing.

Even at the very top, in organizations like the UFC and Bellator MMA, officials can be counted on to let a fight go on for too long, with knocked-out fighters taking unnecessary blows or bouts getting dragged out for minutes on end when the outcome is already determined.

Naturally, things are even worse in the realm of amateur MMA, and an Instagram post by the famed Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA gym stands as the latest testament to that unfortunate fact.

In the video above, a fighter applies an arm-in guillotine choke to his opponent and renders him unconscious. While this is obvious to nearly everyone in attendance, the referee inexplicably allows the fight to continue, even after noticing the fighter has gone limp.

Ultimately, the fighter isn't saved until his cornerman hops the fence and attacks the victor who, commendably, lets go of the hold and attends to his foe as a brawl erupts in the cage.

Thankfully, there were no reports of any serious damage being sustained...but that's no thanks to the official.
