The beginning of any season is an outlook of what is to come.

The Atlanta Thrashers have yet to play even five games, only three games so far, and have posted two wins and one loss in them.

Most teams in the NHL have played five to seven games already, no games for Thrashers this past week, this early in the season will do that.

Now this weekend, it will all change. A back to back vs two tough and very different teams.

First up Friday night, the Thrashers are in New Jersey to face the space stubborn, and defensive team of the Devils. The Thrashers will have to finish off each and every opportunity they will get, as they will be few and far between. Just like their last match versus the Senators, they will have to watch out for the counter-attack.

Next, on Saturday night, they'll be up against the high flying depth offense of the Buffalo Sabres, who have yet to lose in regulation. If you thought our Thrashers had a deep team of run and gun offense, watch out for the Sabres. This team has all four lines flying in and out of zones, and pucks flying at every chance they get. The Thrashers defence and goaltending will have to prove themselves on this night.

If the Thrashers lose both games, it will be like any other usual season, if they win one game, they might be able to squeak into the playoffs, and if they win both, they might be a real team to reckon with.

All this from two games, but they do tell an important fact. They tell everyone else they can become a strong team, and they tell themselves that they can do it each and every night.

Go Thrashers !

NOTE: I'll be in Buffalo to watch our Thrashers kick some Sabres, I can't wait.
