WWE Reveals Network Subscribers, Record Revenue and More for 2017 Q2

WWE announced its 2017 second-quarter earnings Thursday and heralded the quarter as a record-breaking period in terms of revenue.

According to the report, revenue reached an all-time high of $214.6 million, which represented an 8 percent increase.

Also, WWE Network averaged 1.63 million paid subscribers over the course of the quarter in an 8 percent increase from 2016's second quarter.

WWE Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Vince McMahon expressed a positive outlook regarding WWE's financial situation following the earnings report:

"We are pleased with our ongoing efforts to execute our multi-platform content strategy as evidenced by the continued year-over-year growth of WWE Network, the increased production of localized programming across platforms and markets, and the attraction of new sponsors."

As part of the report, WWE also mentioned that April's WrestleMania held in Orlando, Florida, was the most-watched WrestleMania of all time, having been viewed in 1.95 million households worldwide.

With regard to the remainder of 2017, WWE expects another all-time company record to fall in the form of a $100 million Adjusted Operating Income Before Depreciation and Amortization (OIBDA), which would be up nearly 25 percent from 2016.
