Tottenham Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Serge Aurier and Riyad Mahrez
Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Serge Aurier has reportedly told Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain he wants to leave this summer.
The right-back has made his feelings clear to Les Parisiens, with Spurs among the interested suitors, per ESPN FC's Jonathan Johnson: "Serge Aurier has informed Paris Saint-Germain of his desire to move this summer with Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan all keen on the defender, according to an ESPN FC source close to the French club."
Johnson's report also cited an unnamed source revealing Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino "has shown interest" in Aurier as a replacement for new Manchester City signing Kyle Walker.

Spurs recently sold the latter to the Citizens for £50 million.

However, as Johnson pointed out, Aurier's ongoing appeal against a "convertible two-month prison sentence for allegedly attacking a police officer last year" could put Tottenham and United off.
Johnson detailed how PSG would expect around €20-25 million for Aurier, but Pochettino would likely be wary of the player's wages.
Even so, Aurier would make sense as a potential replacement for Walker; the 24-year-old boasts similar levels of pace and energy to Walker. One area where Aurier may exceed City's new signing is in his delivery from the flanks, with the Ivorian an excellent crosser on the run, as evidenced by four assists last season, per WhoScored.com.

However, Spurs already have Walker's obvious replacement on their books in the form of Kieran Trippier. The ex-Burnley full-back is more technically adept than Walker and recently signed a new contract to keep him at Tottenham for another five years, per the club's official website.
Trippier deserves his chance to make the position his own this season.
Aurier isn't the only mooted transfer target who looks unlikely to join Spurs this summer. Daily Mirror reporter Darren Lewis has revealed the north London club has no interest in Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez:
Tottenham had been heavily linked with a move for Mahrez, but Tom Collomosse of the London Evening Standard reported Spurs wouldn't bid unless the Foxes lowered their £50 million asking price.
While the price is a gaudy one, it's surprising Tottenham reportedly have no interest in Mahrez. The Algerian is exactly the kind of flair player Pochettino's squad needs in the final third.
Spurs can unleash Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min on defences, but Mahrez would offer the natural width and trickery from the flanks Tottenham currently lack.

He's a source of goals and creativity who can influence matches for any top side. Spurs could use the inspiration Mahrez can provide if they are going to turn the potential of their squad into trophy-laden success both domestically and in Europe.
