Knicks Rumors: George Hill Reportedly Top Free-Agency Target for New York
The New York Knicks have focused their attention on Utah Jazz free agent George Hill at point guard.
ESPN's Ian Begley reported Saturday Hill is the Knicks' "top target" in free agency. They have not yet reached out to him or his camp in the early hours of the NBA's free-agent moratorium.
After parting ways with team president Phil Jackson on Wednesday, the Knicks are no longer going to use the triangle offense.
The team added point guard Frank Ntilikina with the eighth pick in the 2017 NBA draft. Begley noted the Knicks would like to bring in a veteran who can help develop Ntilikina and avoid overspending in free agency.
Hill was limited to 49 regular-season games with the Jazz last season, though he was excellent when healthy. The 31-year-old set a career high with 16.9 points per game and shot over 40 percent from three-point range for a second consecutive season.
