Six days after being selected eighth overall by the New York Knicks in the 2017 NBA draft,ย Frank Ntilikina injured his knee during a practice session.ย

Per Stefan Bondy of theย New York Daily News,ย Ntilikina appeared to be walking "gingerly" and had his knee taped up.ย

An 18-year-old point guard,ย Ntilikina has been playing professional basketball in France since 2015 withย SIG Strasbourg.ย

Ntilikina emerged as a top prospect in this year's NBA draft class in the months leading up to the event. He also helped leadย SIG Strasbourg to theย LNB Pro A Finals, though his team lost to Elan Chalon in the deciding game one day after the Knicks drafted him.ย

The Knicks will combineย Ntilikina with Kristaps Porzingis and Carmelo Anthony with the hope of getting the team back into the postseason for the first time since 2013.ย
