Braun Strowman Reportedly Cleared to Return to WWE After Surgery on Elbow Injury

Mike ChiariJun 13, 2017

It was reported Tuesday that WWE Superstar Braun Strowman has been cleared to return to in-ring action after undergoing elbow surgery.

According to PWInsider (h/t WrestlingInc.com's Marc Middleton), Strowman was cleared one week ago, and he will return to television when creative plans are finalized.

WWE announced Strowman's elbow surgery in May and reported he was expected to miss up to six months.

Strowman was written off WWE programming after getting attacked by Roman Reigns on Raw.

Strowman had previously defeated Reigns at Payback and attempted to put him out of commission by attacking him after the match.

Strowman instead hit his elbow on an ambulance door and landed on the shelf.

At the time of Strowman's injury, it was widely expected that he was in line to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at Great Balls of Fire.

That honor instead went to Samoa Joe, but after Strowman finishes his rivalry with Reigns, he may very well be in line for a title shot as early as SummerSlam in August.
