Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Franck Kessie and Issa Diop
Chelsea are reportedly looking to beat Italian giants Roma to the signing of highly rated Atalanta star Franck Kessie.
Although Roma have an agreement in place for the services of the midfielder, Chelsea are looking to hijack the deal and will move in for him this summer—per TransferMarketWeb, via Alex Harris of the Daily Star.
The Blues had a verbal offer of up to £27 million for Kessie rejected by Atalanta in January, but the Premier League leaders are keen not to miss out on their man this time around.

Kessie is enjoying something of a breakthrough campaign in Serie A this term, causing nightmares for defences across the division with a series of scintillating displays.
He's no stranger to finding the back of the net, either, having bagged six league goals and created two more so far in 2016-17, via WhoScored.com.
Plus, Kessie possesses immense power, skill, pace and composure on the ball that would be sure to make him a fans' favourite at Stamford Bridge. Here's what he could bring to the table:
At just 20 years of age, Kessie is undoubtedly still one for the future, but the maturity with which he plays is something to get very excited about.
Fortunately for Chelsea fans, he's not exactly opposed to playing Premier League football, having recently told TuttoMercatoWeb that he wouldn't "refuse" a switch to west London—via Rhys Turrell of the Daily Star:
"I love the Premier League and in particular the Manchester United, the team for which dream of playing. Chelsea? That too is a great club, no one would refuse, but I dream the United."

Chelsea will now send scouts to watch the midfielder in action before opening up negotiations on a potential deal.
In other news, the Daily Mirror has revealed that the Blues are on the cusp of landing Toulouse defender Issa Diop—via Louis Sealey of Metro.
Diop came through the French outfit's academy system, but he's now ready to move on and will seemingly join Chelsea for £15 million this summer.

The defender is another with bags of potential at 20 years of age and will look to be in the new wave of Blues centre-backs with countryman Kurt Zouma.
Chelsea may have lost ground in their bid for the Premier League title at the hands of Crystal Palace on Saturday, but their dominance is clear for all to see.
If Antonio Conte can make a few wise and exciting signings in the summer, he can ensure Chelsea never lose their grip on the trophy for the foreseeable future.
