Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest David De Gea, Mateo Kovacic Rumours
Real Madrid reportedly have multiple plans in place to sign Manchester United star David De Gea involving either a £43 million transfer offer or a swap deal for James Rodriguez or Isco. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in Mateo Kovacic.
According to ABC (h/t Daily Star's James Benson), Los Blancos are willing to offer a similar figure for De Gea to the deal they came up with in 2015, when the Spain international nearly completed a move back to Madrid.
Real manager Zinedine Zidane will reportedly offer £43 million for his services, and if that isn't enough to convince the Red Devils, stars like Rodriguez and Isco could be used to get a deal done.

De Gea has long been linked with a return to Spain, as Keylor Navas has struggled for the bulk of the 2016-17 campaign as Real's top starter. Los Blancos are expected to invest in a new goalkeeper, and as Spain's No. 1 option and one of the world's best, De Gea is a perfect target.
The 26-year-old is enjoying another fine season and flashed all of his talent in the FA Cup match against Chelsea. As shared by BBC Sport, former professional footballer Martin Keown was impressed:
United will likely do what they can to keep their star goalkeeper―and arguably their best player―at Old Trafford, but that might be easier said than done. Virtually all fans and pundits assume De Gea will eventually return home―the question is when, not if.
A £43 million fee would be a good figure for a goalkeeper, and if manager Jose Mourinho can use the transaction to bring Isco or Rodriguez into the fold, it would greatly lessen the impact of losing De Gea.
Elsewhere, Tom Hopkinson of the Daily Mirror reports Real will soon make a decision on the future of Kovacic, and Spurs are keeping an eye on the situation.

According to the report, Los Blancos could decide to part with the Croatia international and would consider offers of £17.5 million if they do decide to sell. His buyout clause is currently set at £21.8m million.
Kovacic has enjoyed a fine season in the Spanish capital, making the most of his opportunities. He's usually the first backup behind Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, but he's made plenty of starts even when the two were healthy.
Here's a look at some of his highlights:
The 22-year-old's future remains someone muddy, as Kroos and Modric will be the preferred starters as long as they're with the club. Kovacic is an excellent backup and a good prospect Los Blancos can continue to develop, but the youngster may opt to leave in search of more minutes.
Kovacic seems perfectly happy with the club, however, and Los Blancos have steadily increased his playing time. The club seems committed to the Croat, and a move is unlikely.
