IPTL 2016 Results: Wednesday Tennis Scores, Winners, Latest Singapore Schedule
Japan Warriors beat India Aces 27-20 in the International Premier Tennis League in Singapore on Wednesday, winning four out of five sets played. OUE Singapore Slammers also cruised to a win, taking every set in a 30-18 demolition of UAE Royals.
Warriors took the first set of the day when Fernando Gonzalez beat Mark Philippoussis 6-5. The mixed-doubles pairing of Jean Julien-Rojer and Jelena Jankovic drew blood for Warriors next, and Jankovic claimed a set on her own soon after.

Ivan Dodig and Feliciano Lopez struck back for the Aces in a 6-3 doubles win over Rojer and Fernando Verdasco, but the latter closed things out for his side with a comfortable 6-1 victory over Lopez in the following set.
In Wednesday's other clash, only Tomas Berdych and the duo of Pablo Cuevas and Daniel Nestor came close to winning a set, forcing a decider in the final singles and men's doubles matches, respectively.

Wednesday Recap
Japan Warriors got off to the perfect start as Gonzalez edged out Philippoussis in an attritional set in the Legends' singles.
Australia's Philippoussis showed he still has something in the tank after stepping down from the main tour, demonstrating the power that gave him the nickname "Scud." But, as this spectator noted on Twitter, Gonzalez proved too strong:
Gonzalez's performance was followed up with victory for Warriors' Rojer and Jankovic in the doubles, who beat Rohan Bopanna and Mirza. Dodig came in to replace Bopanna during the match, but the Croatian was unable to halt the Warriors' charge as they slipped to a 6-4 loss.
Jankovic then took to the court once again, this time in singles, and she saw off the challenge of Kirsten Flipkens 6-4 to secure her team's third straight victory.
In the fourth encounter, Dodig paired up with Feliciano Lopez for their set against Warriors' duo Fernando Verdasco and Rojer. The latter pair triumphed in a titanic clash against Singapore Slammers on Tuesday, but they were surprisingly brushed aside 6-3 by Dodig and Lopez.

The result got the Aces back in the overall match at 21-19, and it was all to play for in the final set.
However, any hope of a fine turnaround was ended as Verdasco hammered his Spanish compatriot Lopez 6-1 in just 17 minutes.
Singapore Slammers jumped out to a quick 12-4 lead over Royals in the men's legends and women's singles matches, as both Carlos Moya and Kiki Bertens broke serve early and often.

The two needed just 24 and 22 minutes, respectively, to win their matches and give their team a huge lead.
Bertens returned to the court almost immediately after, taking the mixed doubles with partner Marcelo Melo to all but end the contest. The final two matches proved to be the most exciting, with Melo and Marcos Baghdatis needing a decider in the men's doubles and Nyck Kyrgios having to dig deep against Berdych to secure the clean sweep.
