The Curse of the Billy Goat is deadโ€”and has been properly buried in Theo Epstein's stomach.

Last week, the Chicago Cubs put an end to a 108-year title drought that featured several prominent figures, none more so than the hated billy goat. That's why, when his team finally won a much-anticipated championship, Epstein knew exactly what he wanted to do when he got back to the Windy City:

Eat a goat in the Wrigley Field bleachers.

"They've said there are no curses, that it was just a matter of putting together a great baseball team," said Boka Restaurant Group co-owner Kevin Boehmโ€”who made the meal happenโ€”per Shia Kapos of the Chicago Sun-Times. "But they were happy to eat that [nine-and-a-half-pound] goat."

A fitting end to a storybook season...and generations of disappointment.
