Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Announced as Main Event for WWE Hell in a Cell 2016
Sasha Banks and Charlotte are set to make history Oct. 30 at Hell in a Cell when they compete in the first-ever women's Hell in a Cell match, but their encounter was made even more special when Raw general manager Mick Foley announced Tuesday they will be the main event of the show.ย
As seen in the following Facebook post by Foley, Banks and Charlotte have been tabbed to compete in the first women's match to ever main event a WWE main-roster pay-per-view:

Charlotte will also put her streak of 12 consecutive pay-per-view victories in championship matches on the line when she vies for The Boss' WWE Raw Women's Championship.
The Hell in a Cell match has a long and illustrious history in WWE with 33 such matches having been contested previously, but the clash between Sasha and Charlotte will undoubtedly be among the most significant.
Even before the match was announced as the main event, its importance wasn't lost on Banks:
The same can be said for Charlotte, who is looking to become women's champion for the third time in her young career:
Sasha and Charlotte have been at the forefront of the women's revolution since they were called up from NXT along with Becky Lynch in the summer of 2015.
They began to change the game during their time in WWE's developmental system, however, with Banks' matches against Bayley at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn and NXT TakeOver: Respect standing out.
Sasha and Bayley started the conversation of women potentially main-eventing a WWE pay-per-view one day when they accomplished the feat in NXT, and that opportunity was earned more quickly than most could have anticipated considering the barren women's wrestling landscape in WWE just a few years ago.
Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins are two of the top Superstars in all of wrestling, and they will do battle inside the cell with the WWE Universal Championship on the line. The fact that Sasha and Charlotte were chosen to be the main event over them speaks volumes regarding how far women's wrestling has come in WWE.
