According to TMZ Sports, one of Broner's friends contacted police after the messages were posted. His friends told the website they're "extremely concerned."
However, later on Wednesday, Broner's fiancee, Arie Nicole, posted a Snapchat that read "Adrien is okay!," as TMZ Sports noted. According to the report, friends of Broner are "confident he's safe and in a better place now."
The 27-year-old ran into legal trouble earlier in the year following an alleged assault in January. He surrendered to authorities April 4 and was indicted on an aggravated robbery charge April 14. In July, a Hamilton County, Ohio, judge ordered him to serve 30 days in county jail after he arrived late for his trial.
On Sept. 22, ESPN.com's Dan Rafael reported the charges from the alleged incident had been dropped after the victim and a star witness failed to show up at court.
Broner last fought April 1, beating Ashley Theophane by TKO in the ninth round.
