WWE Rumors: Buzz on Road to WWE No Mercy 2016 for Week of Sept. 29
WWE's next pay-per-view will see SmackDown attempt to continue its recent success when No Mercy airs on Oct. 9, but before that, there is plenty to discuss in the company.
A worrying moment for one of the company's top stars at Clash of Champions casts doubt over his participation moving forward, although there is news emerging this week that will somewhat calm those worries.
That, backstage talk about the company's biggest tag team and heat on an unlikely star feature in this week's rumor roundup.

Seth Rollins' Injury Status
There has been concern heading out of Clash of Champions about Seth Rollins' injury following a bump during his match with Kevin Owens.
Rollins took a blow to the ribs midway through the WWE Universal Championship match, immediately sparking fears about his status.
However, it seems as if there's not much to worry about.
Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats reported that Rollins was injured enough to require WWE to edge on the side of caution.
He came down and confronted Owens during Raw's main event on Monday but was ushered to the back, and that was because the company didn't want him to "get physical," according to Ortman.
However, thankfully for Rollins and his fans, he isn't expected to miss time on TV, which comes as a relief.
The New Day's Reign to Become Record-Breaking?
There was further glory for The New Day over the past week—not just on one occasion, but two.
Victory against Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson at Clash of Champions was followed up by a successful title defense against the duo on Raw the following night in a pair of matches that were widely predicted to see the trio surrender the Tag Team Championships following a reign that has extended well over a year.
However, it seems that Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston will be sticking around as tag champions for a good while.
Ortman reported that the reason Demolition's 478-day record-breaking reign was mentioned was because the talk is that The New Day will go beyond that.
That is only a couple of months away, so if the trio can keep the belts until 2017, we could see history being made in WWE's tag division.
Heat on the Cruiserweight Champion?
The most striking note in this week's rumor roundup comes from WWE's new cruiserweight division.
T.J. Perkins has made a decent impression since winning the Cruiserweight Classic and picked up a great win on Raw against Tony Nese this past Monday.
But word has surfaced that Perkins has heat backstage already in WWE. Dave Meltzer noted in the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc.) that some people in the company are not happy about him referring to being homeless in the past.
Why? Apparently because a lot of indy wrestlers have lost their homes in the past and have therefore been in similar situations to Perkins.
Whether that influences how long he holds the Cruiserweight Championship remains to be seen. Perkins has had a decent enough start on Raw, but there is plenty of talent waiting for a chance to grab the strap.
