Lil Wayne: Hip-Hop's Next Sports Agent

B/R StudiosJun 8, 2018

Lil Wayne is a routine spectator at sporting events. The multi-platinum lyricist is an avid Lakers and Packers fanatic. Now Wayne is venturing into the business side of sports, as he recently opened his own sports agency: Young Money Sports.

Since 1998, three other hip-hop moguls created their own sports agencies: Master P (No Limit Sports), Birdman (Cash Money Sports) and Jay Z (Roc Nation Sports). While the Brooklyn native has tallied up an impressive clientele at Roc Nation (Kevin Durant, Dez Bryant, Yoenis Cespedes, Todd Gurley, Ndamukong Suh...to name a few), Master P is infamous for his lackluster negotiations with Ricky Williams and the Saints back in 1999. No Limit Sports has since folded. Cash Money Sports is building off momentum from signing Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans.
