Green Bay Packers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars: Live Score, Highlights and Analysis

Michelle BrutonSep 11, 2016

The Green Bay Packers won a hard-fought battle over the Jacksonville Jaguars by just four points in the sweltering Florida sun.

The Packers offense showed some fire that was so sorely missing from the 2015 iteration of the squad, but in the end it was the team's defense that secured the win with its solid play.

In Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson's first game back in more than a year after he missed the entire 2015 season with a torn ACL, he had six receptions for 32 yards and a touchdown on the day. Though he got off to a slow start, he and his quarterback didn't miss a beat in the second quarter.

Aaron Rodgers was also showing renewed trust in wideout Davante Adams. Adams struggled mightily with drops last season, and things weren't looking good early in the game against Jacksonville as the wide receiver had at least two more.

But Adams more than made up for that with an insane touchdown catch at the end of the second quarter on a pass thrown by Rodgers as he was being pulled to the ground by Jaguars rookie Jalen Ramsey.

Adams finished his day with three receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown. Randall Cobb also contributed six receptions for 57 yards.

As for the defense, three different players managed to sack Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles: Clay Matthews, Nick Perry, and Morgan Burnett. The crucial final stop came from Damarious Randall, who wrapped up Allen Hurns after he completed a lateral pass from Bortles.

The 1-0 Packers travel to Minnesota next week to take on the 1-0 Minnesota Vikings
