USC DE Jabari Ruffin Ejected for Stomping on Alabama Player's Groin
USC defensive end Jabari Ruffin was ejected from the team's 52-6 loss to Alabama on Saturday for stepping on Crimson Tide defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick's groin.
Ruffin was flagged for a personal foul on the play and immediately ejected.
The incident occurred after an Alabama kickoff that was fielded by Adoree’ Jackson, who was brought down at his own 20-yard line. Jackson was attempting to help Fitzpatrick back to his feet when Ruffin stepped on his groin.
Things only got worse for the Trojans. Two plays later, quarterback Max Browne threw an interception that Marlon Humphrey returned for a touchdown to help extend Alabama's lead to 17-3 with two minutes, 37 seconds left in the first half.
Ruffin, a senior, served primarily as a backup outside linebacker and special teams player last year. He had 11 total tackles for the Trojans in 14 games during the 2015 season.
