Ebron Has Been Project for Lions at TE Position
The Lions have remained patient with Ebron since selecting him with the 10th overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft. While he's shown signs of progress, the franchise is still waiting on him to become the type of reliable weapon a front office always hopes to receive from that type of investment.
Injuries played a role in his mundane production over his first two seasons. He missed three games as a rookie while battling a hamstring problem and sat out two contests last year with a knee issue. There were fears he suffered a major ankle injury during camp this year, but he avoided a serious setback.
Detroit is going to give Ebron every chance to prove himself as a high-impact piece of the offense after using a top-10 pick on him. Being able to stay healthy for an extended stretch will be crucial in that ongoing quest.
