Is Anthony Martial Unhappy Losing His No. 9 Shirt to Zlatan Ibrahimovic?

Mark BollonsJul 24, 2016

Anthony Martial has the world of social media talking after appearing to show his unhappiness at the loss of the Manchester United No. 9 jersey.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been given the number ahead of the 2016/17 season, making Martial the new No. 11 at Old Trafford. He takes the number from Adnan Januzaj.

However, Martial took to Facebook after the news broke, per the Daily Mail, posting a large image of himself in the No. 9 jersey. He also changed his profile picture to a photo that included his new brand name, "AM9."

That obviously might need a quick rethink. Meanwhile, Martial did wear No. 11 for France at the European Championship in his homeland this summer.

Ibrahimovic announced that he would be taking the number on Instagram on Friday, and it's clear that the mercurial Swede won the day in the Manchester United marketing room.
