Two second-place teams from Groups A and C will meet in the first round-of-16 match of Euro 2016 on Saturday when Switzerland takes on Poland in Saint-Etienne, France. The Swiss finished second behind host team France in Group A with five points while the Poles tied Germany in Group C with seven points but had a smaller goal difference.

Poland has been pegged as the slight betting favorite at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark. Poland is also at +2500 on the updated Euro 2016 odds, with Switzerland set at +4000.

Poland played in the tougher of the two groups and did not give up a goal in its first three games, outscoring its opponents by a 2-0 margin, including a 0-0 draw with Germany.

Unfortunately, the Germans topped Ukraine by one more goal in a 2-0 victory compared to 1-0 for the Poles to win Group C. The tie with Germany was the first scoreless game of the tourney and the first time since the 2008 final that the Germans did not tally a goal in a Euro game.

For the Swiss, draws against Romania and France kept the team from winning Group A. Like Poland, though, Switzerland played the French to a 0-0 draw in the final game in group play on Sunday, earning the respect of some who doubted they could make it to the knockout stage.

These are two very solid defensive squads that surrendered only one goal in six games between them. That happened when the Swiss tied Romania 1-1 in their second game in Group A play.

It would not be surprising at all to see this match go to penalty kicks considering how well each of the teams has played against its top competition so far. That being said, Poland has a small edge according to oddsmakers and should do just enough to win and advance.

Poland vs. Switzerland Prediction: 1-0 Poland
