U.S. Open 2016 Leaderboard: Saturday Scores, Results and Analysis
After three days of play, Shane Lowry of Ireland sits at the top of the leaderboard at five under par at the 116th U.S. Open Championship at Oakmont Country Club.
Heavy rain on the first day has wreaked havoc with the schedule all weekend long, but Lowry has maintained his focus throughout. He shot a first-round 68, then a second-round 70 before assuming the lead as darkness fell on Day 3 with a five under par score through 14 holes.
Lowry took over the lead from Dustin Johnson, who is three shots back through 13 holes, while first-time Major player Andrew Lowry has shown nerves of steel as he hangs onto solo second place at three under.
World No. 1 Jason Day and 2015 U.S. Open champion Jordan Spieth both started Round 3 well back in the field and remain outside the top group of challengers heading into Sunday's action.
The third round will conclude early on Sunday morning, then the course will be reset for final round action.
