Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook Scoff at Question About Steph Curry's Defense
After falling to the Golden State Warriors 120-111 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were asked if Stephen Curry is underrated as a defender.
Westbrook laughed.
Durant said that the MVP is “pretty good, but he doesn’t guard the best point guards.”
KD added that the Oklahoma City Thunder like their matchup when Steph guards Russ, per Anthony Slater of the Oklahoman:
The question came about because Curry picked up a clutch steal on KD that led to the biggest shot of the game.
When asked about the exchange, Curry played it off and said he has a great perimeter defender on his team (Klay Thompson) and reiterated that he doesn’t fall into the one-on-one hype.
Game 6 should be fun. The Thunder, up 3-2, will look to finish off the reigning champions at home Saturday.
