The Seattle Seahawks took to the road for the third straight week, but they were unable to take down the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium in a divisional-round matchup in the NFL playoffs.
Seattle came to Charlotte fresh off a nail-biting road win over the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round, as they squeaked out a one-point victory thanks in large part to a missed field goal off the foot of Blair Walsh.
A win Sunday would have propelled the Seahawks to their third straight NFC Championship Game and kept their hopes of advancing to a third consecutive Super Bowl alive. Alas, the loss has sent them home for the rest of the winter.
The Panthers, meanwhile, came in as the NFC's undisputed No. 1 seed and are moving on to the conference championship—to face the Arizona Cardinals—for the first time since the 2005 season. Cam Newton and Co. have been excellent all year, and aside from a woeful second half against Seattle, they followed suit in a 31-24 victory.
The game might be over, but keep it locked here at Bleacher Report for postgame coverage.
Panthers 24, Seahawks 21
