The Brooklyn Nets reassigned former general manager Billy King on Jan. 10 and have announced a replacement, as San Antonio Spurs assistant GM Sean Marks has taken the job, per the team (h/t Marc Stein of ESPN.com).
"I have never heard this name before," Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov said when asked about Marks on Wednesday, per Andy Vasquez of the Record. However, Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News confirmed the team interviewed Marks twice.
On Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported Marks had been offered the Nets job.
Marks will have a project on his hands in Brooklyn, which includes revamping the roster without the aid of a first-round pick in this year's draft and finding someone to replace Lionel Hollins as head coach.
