Jamal Joseph Vaughn was arrested on Thursday on a charge of second degree battery in connection with the attack on Gordon, per Kleinpeter.

What caused the incident wasn't made immediately clear. LSU head coach Les Miles later released a statement, via Barrett Sallee of Bleacher Report, regarding Gordon.

"I am aware that Dillon Gordon was involved in an incident last night that required him to receive medical attention. Fortunately, the injuries Dillon sustained were not life-threatening and from all indications, he will make a full recovery. We are thankful that Dillon is okay."

Gordon, a senior, mostly serves in a blocking role when healthy. He missed the majority of the 2015 season due to a lingering Achilles injury that ultimately required surgery. He finished the campaign with just a single catch for eight yards.

The Times-Picayune report noted the Tigers are trying to secure another year of eligibility for him due to the injury issues. He provides a boost to the rushing attack when at full strength.

Although the exact nature of his injuries are unclear, it seems like he's avoided any serious issues. If so, that's fortunate news as he also continues to recover from the Achilles problem with an eye toward returning next season should the medical redshirt be granted.
