Liverpool's Simon Mignolet Kept the Most Premier League Clean Sheets in 2015

Given the criticism he has been subjected to at Anfield, it might come as a surprise to see that Simon Mignolet led the Premier League in clean sheets in 2015.

The Liverpool goalkeeper kept out Sunderland on Wednesday night to register his 16th shutout of the calendar year—one more than Manchester City's Joe Hart.

That's more than Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech (11)—who earlier this week broke the Premier League's all-time clean-sheet record—and Manchester United's No. 1 David de Gea (12), who was a comfortable winner between the posts in the PremierLeague.com team of the season last term.

It remains to be seen whether Mignolet's new record will do anything to endear him to the Anfield faithful, with rumours swirling that Jurgen Klopp could be looking to replace the Belgian in the near future.
