Injuries Keeping Levy from Capitalizing on Career 2014 Season
Levy's 2015 season ended almost as soon as it began. He battled a hip injury that forced him to miss the first four games, but he was able to return in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Unfortunately, Levy reinjured his hip against the Cardinals and had to undergo surgery, which landed him on injured reserve.
Levy had the best year of his career in 2014 with the Lions, recording 121 tackles and 2.5 sacks. The team rewarded him with a four-year extension, but the initial return on that investment has not produced dividends.
The Lions are in transition, most notably on offense after the offseason retirement of wide receiver Calvin Johnson. But the combination of Levy at linebacker and Ezekiel Ansah on the defensive line gives them a formidable tandem. Fans will be happy to see Levy finally return to the lineup for the team's playoff push.
