Luca Zidane Sent off for Bumping Heads in Real Madrid Youth Game with Atletico
The son of Real Madrid great Zinedine Zidane, Luca, was sent off for the club’s youth team over the weekend against local rivals Atletico Madrid after using his head in an aggressive manner.
The 17-year-old goalkeeper seemed to lose his cool in the heat of the derby match, with Real eventually losing 4-2, per Le Buzz Eurosport. Here’s a clip of the youngster being dismissed during the game:
Naturally, comparisons will be drawn between Luca and his father. The French midfielder was infamously given his marching orders in the final of the 2006 World Cup for planting a head-butt on the chest of Italian defender Marco Materazzi, as can be seen at the beginning of the previous clip.

Zidane Sr. is currently the manager of the Real Madrid B team and has been tipped to eventually take over the senior side at the Santiago Bernabeu, per Tim Clement of Sky Sports. Although his son is rated highly, it’s clear he’ll have to curb his temper if he’s to make a similar step up.
