Barcelona Fans Don't Want Lionel Messi to Start El Clasico, According to Poll

Oh, to be Barcelona.

Such is the depth and quality of the Catalan side's attacking stock that fans have voted for Lionel Messi to start Saturday's Clasico with Real Madrid on the bench.

Since the Argentinian superstar's injury against Las Palmas in September, his strike partners Luis Suarez and Neymar have assumed control and guided Barcelona to La Liga's summit.

As such, fans aren't desperate to rush the four-time Ballon d'Or winner back to action.

A poll by Sport suggests that an overwhelming majority (79 percent) of nearly 3,600 votes would rather Messi took his place among the substitutes.

Time will tell if they get their way.
