Tommy Tuberville, Auburn Football, and the Seven Finger Salute

Ben WhiteMay 28, 2008

As you may have heard, Tommy Tuberville and four other college coaches spent the last few days in Iraq visiting the troops.

As you also may have heard, Tubs (we are tight so I can call him that) was caught waving seven fingers in the air. The Alabama media and fanbase was, predictably, outraged by his "arrogance" and general "lack of class".

What the Alabama fans fail to realize is that Tommy T. was just trying to tell the troops and the nation to beware the seven deadly sins. Especially Gluttony (looking at you Phil) and Envy (now I am looking at you Alabama fans).

I am sure he was not in any way trying to imply that Auburn was going to beat Alabama for a record seventh time. He has never done anything like that in the past...

Reporters asked Alabama coach Nick Saban what he thought of Tuberville's zany antics.Saban called the finger waving a "massacre of class; comparable to My Lai and the genocide in Darfur."

When asked to expand on his comments he said he didn't "have time for this shit" and "I have to go ichat."

Obivously, Tommy took the beginning of the year off from recruiting to read Robert Greene's The 48 Laws of Power. He is a big fan of Law 37 - Create Compelling Spectacles.

Fear Tommy Tuberville, Puppet Master. He has Alabama fans dancing to his tune, which is "Ramblin Man" by the Allman Brothers.

Video of the "atrocity" here.
