Busquets Reportedly Clear for Real Madrid vs. Barcelona Showdown
Sunday, Nov. 15
"Sergio Busquets asked to be substituted during Spain's 2-0 win over England but the small overload in his hamstring is not serious and the player is still in good physical shape," reported Sport. "There will be no problems for him to play in the Clasico on November 21 against Real Madrid."
Busquets Vital to Barcelona Midfield
Busquets is one of the mainstays of coach Luis Enrique's side, having anchored the Blaugrana midfield for many years while the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Andres Iniesta have the freedom to attack.
He has been important to the Barca cause since becoming a regular member of the squad in 2008, featuring in 15 games in La Liga and Europe combined so far this season, according to WhoScored.com.
Any absence would likely have seen Argentinian Javier Mascherano moved further forward, swapping his central-defensive berth for a role he has played many times.
However, it appears that won't be necessary, allowing Barca to enter their biggest fixture of the season to date with their tempo-setter sitting at the base of their midfield.
