Recap
Pospisil used his powerful serve to grab a 6-4, 6-3 win over Giraldo, who put on a solid performance but was simply overpowered by the Canadian every time Pospisil came up to serve.
The 25-year-old lost just a single point on his first serve to continue his streak of first-round wins, via tennis writer Tom Tebbutt:
Pospisil hit nine aces and lost just six points in total on his serve, as dominant a serving performance as you'll find. Giraldo never had a break chance, and while he showed some flashes early in the match, he gave away six break chances in total, of which Pospisil converted four.
Per the Associated Press (for ABC News), he seemed more than happy with his performance, saying: "I played pretty well overall and did a good job despite a few nerves at the end. I came up with some good points and great shots and that was the key to the match.”
The Canadian's next opponent will be the winner of the match between Jeremy Chardy and Aljaz Bedene, and given the former's decent run of form in 2015, most expect the Frenchman to advance to the next round.
Chardy struggled containing Richard Gasquet in his three-set loss in Stockholm on Friday, so if Pospisil can replicate Monday's performance, he should progress to the third round rather comfortably.

In Monday's other first-round match, Cuevas beat Carreno Busta 6-2, 6-3 in similar fashion, dominating the Argentinian on his first serve. Cuevas never had to defend a break chance and converted six of nine himself, booking his spot in the next round in just over an hour.
Cuevas is more of a doubles specialist who has been playing some excellent singles tennis of late, and he'll meet third-seeded Bernard Tomic in the second round. Tomic, David Ferrer, Fabio Fognini and Feliciano Lopez are the four men who were given a first-round bye.
There were few surprises during Monday's qualifiers, with Germany's Mischa Zverev comfortably disposing of Yuichi Sugita and Taro Daniel taking the win over Norbert Gombos. Perhaps the biggest shock was Albert Montanes' two-set loss against Daniel Brands, but Montanes gave that match away with a horrific showing on his serve, including four double faults.
Brands will play Nick Kyrgios on Tuesday, right after the conclusion of Zverev's meeting with Thomaz Bellucci. Tuesday's schedule also includes the match between Joao Sousa and Gilles Muller, as well as an all-Spanish affair between Fernando Verdasco and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.
