Kurt Busch, Stewart-Haas Racing Agree to Multiyear Contract Extension
Kurt Busch's time under the Stewart-Haas Racing banner won't be ending anytime soon. The 37-year-old announced Wednesday he had signed a long-term extension with the organization. In addition, Monster Energy will be his car's sponsor, per Fox Sports' Tom Jensen.
"I'm very happy to be back with Stewart-Haas Racing and proud to take Monster Energy to the Sprint Cup Series," Busch said. "This is exactly where I want to be and I have two partners who want to win as much as I do."

Busch joined Stewart-Haas in August 2013, with the deal going into effect with the start of the 2014 season. Before that, the 2004 points champion had short spells with Furniture Row Racing and Phoenix Racing after six years with what is now Team Penske.
In his first year at SHR, Busch finished 12th in the points standings. With one more race left in the Contender Round, Busch sits in third place in the Chase, 13 points ahead of the cutoff line for the Eliminator Round.
