Matthysse
Last Time Out

In a blood-and-guts battle, Matthysse outgunned Ruslan Provodnikov and earned a majority decision. The two powerful punchers put on an offensive display and showed off their chins, as each ate some serious shots.
We can only hope this fight with Postol is half as good.
Calling Names
Matthysse has been a major name in the 140-147 pound range for the last five years. He's had some mildly big fights with the likes of Zab Judah and Danny Garcia, but he didn't win either of those fights, and he still hasn't secured the major pay-per-view main event scrap.
If he can beat Postol, he's got his eye on big fish. Per Dan Ambrose of Boxing News 24, Matthysse doesn't put much stock in Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s retirement. However, that would likely be a one-sided boxing exhibition in favor of Money. The bout with Manny Pacquiao could be interesting. But before we get our hopes up, Matthysse has a tough Ukrainian who will not lie down.
Postol
Last Time Out
In a tuneup, eight-round bout with Jake Giuriceo in April, Postol took a unanimous decision to remain undefeated. It was a relatively easy win and a letdown in terms of excitement after his 11th-round KO win over Selcuk Aydin in 2014.
Postol doesn't have explosive power, as evidenced by his modest KO total, but he battles and will not back down. He doesn't have the firepower Matthysse brings, but he'll be nose-to-nose with him for as long as this one lasts.
Prediction
Postol must use his boxing prowess to keep Matthysse off balance. If he can stay away from powerful exchanges, he'll be able to win some rounds. Unfortunately for Postol, Matthysse can be a destroyer when he's focused and cutting off the rim.
Because of the plans Matthysse has ahead of him, there's reason to believe he'll be locked in. Postol doesn't possess the power to make Matthysse respect him. It's only a matter of time before the Argentine wears him down and stops him.
Expect a seventh-round TKO win for the Machine.
