WWE NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for September 30

The Doctor Chris MuellerSep 30, 2015

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of WWE NXT, where we take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.

The next live special, TakeOver: Respect, is scheduled for October 7. This means Wednesday's show is the last chance WWE has to sell us on the feuds that will make up next week's card.

The best part about the upcoming event is that we will see the first Iron Woman match for the NXT Women's Championship. To make things even better, Bayley and Sasha Banks will be the first women to headline one of these shows in the main event.

But that's next week. For now, let's take a look at what's in store for this week's regular episode of NXT.

The Men

Of the four bouts scheduled, two of them will be singles matches. The first will see Apollo Crews taking on one of the newest NXT recruits in Johnny Gargano.

This will be the first time we will see Gargano without his tag team partner by his side, so it will give us a chance to evaluate him as an individual.

Ever since Crews debuted at the last TakeOver event, he has been getting rave reviews. He is easily one of the most versatile wrestlers in the entire company, but he is still new to the WWE Universe.

We have seen many athletically gifted performers fail to succeed because they didn't have a special connection with the fans. We all saw how talented Shelton Benjamin and John Morrison were, and look what happened to them.

This might not seem like an important match, but the fact that both of these men are so new means every victory counts. Whoever comes away with the win will get a little boost in momentum.

The second singles match will see Gargano's partner in crime, Tommaso Ciampa, go up against Tyler Breeze, NXT's resident pretty boy.

Breeze and Crews will face each other on Saturday, so having each of them fight one-half of a tag team makes sense.

Breeze is someone who many feel should have been called up a long time ago, but keeping him in NXT is the right move for the time being.

The promotion needs established talents, and since most of the big names have already been brought up to the main roster, Breeze is the resident veteran.

Since Breeze is booked for TakeOver: Respect and Ciampa isn't, it seems pretty obvious who is going to pick up the win.

The Women

The women of NXT will be featured in a tag team match when Emma and Dana Brooke take on Billie Kay and Peyton Royce.

Royce and Kay have been featured on NXT a few times, but they are still new to the scene. Emma is an established talent, and Brooke is well on her way to becoming a real threat to anyone she steps in the ring with.

Unless WWE has plans to push the newcomers, Emma and Brooke will likely get the win. The only thing that really matters is that the match ends up being good.

The women in NXT have been under a lot more pressure ever since Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks moved to the main roster. Those three had a reputation for putting on incredible performances, and people expect that trend to continue in NXT.

Emma has already shown she is up to the task, but Brooke, Kay and Royce have to prove they are worthy of the opportunity they have been given. Hopefully they are capable of exceeding expectations.

The Tag Teams

The last quarterfinal match in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will take place this week when Finn Balor and Samoa Joe take on Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady.

Even without the tournament, this match would be worth the price of admission. Taking two of the best singles stars and pairing them up to fight the most popular tag team has money written all over it.

It's good that there's only four matches booked for this week's show. That means each bout will have plenty of time, and the more time the bookers give to this stellar main event, the better.

Whichever team picks up the victory will move on to the semifinals to battle Rhyno and Baron Corbin. Without looking at the spoiler report, it's hard to predict which team will win.

Joe and Balor are big stars, both domestically and internationally, but Amore and Cass have established themselves as the most popular tag team in NXT.

In the end, it's the fans who will win because this is the kind of bout that will produce "This is awesome" chants throughout the course of the match.

Every contest set for this week's show has the potential to be great. Which one are you looking forward to the most?
