Edinson Cavani Endures a Horribly Forgettable Experience in Front of Goal

If this was Edinson Cavani's audition to eventually take over Zlatan Ibrahimovic's role as the guy in PSG's attack, it wasn't a very convincing one. 

Cavani hasn't hid his ambition to play through the middle for the Parisian giants, but this one moment of chaos in front of goal will hardly give manager Laurent Blanc selection headaches when picking between the Swede and the Uruguayan. 

With just the goalkeeper to beat, Cavani (who has been in good form this season) uncharacteristically whiffed on his shot, fell over and then kicked the ball out of play, even with Marco Verratti chasing behind him. 

That miss came directly after Ibrahimovic had a penalty saved. The Swede has endured a tough start to the season, although he did score his first goal of the campaign before this miss from the spot:

Ultimately, it didn't mean a thing, as PSG trounced Guingamp 3-0 to extend their lead atop the Ligue 1 table.
