Reus Set to be Fit for Hamburger SV Match
Thursday, Nov. 12
"There was good news for Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, with Marco Reus and Erik Durm both returning to the training pitch," reported Bundesliga.com. "[...] He (Reus) is expected to be available when Thomas Tuchel's men travel to take on Hamburger SV in Matchday 13's opener on Friday 20 November."
Reus Desperate for Consistent Run of Games
For Reus, any more time spent on the sidelines would be a significant blow. His 2014-15 season was punctured by problems after missing the 2014 World Cup through injury, and the start of the current term saw the Dortmund man suffer a broken toe, per the Associated Press (h/t USA Today).
He will be desperate to put this latest setback behind him and string together a run of games. At his best, Reus is one of the most fearsome attackers in European football, but we haven't seen him at full flight for a while now.
Under the tutelage of new manager Tuchel, Dortmund seem set for big things in 2015-16. Indeed, with talents such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Shinji Kagawa, Adnan Januzaj and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the squad, there is plenty of quality in attacking areas.
But Reus is a player who could potentially be the difference between a good season and a great one. Needless to say, all those at the Westfalenstadion will be crossing their fingers and hoping their star man can return to 100 per cent fitness and stay there.
