Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev Announced for WWE SummerSlam 2015 PPV

Joseph ZuckerAug 17, 2015

Dolph Ziggler and Rusev will likely conclude their blood feud when they step in the ring against each other at SummerSlam on Sunday. WWE confirmed the two will face off in a singles match.

Ziggler hadn't been seen in over a month after Rusev took him out of action on the July 6 episode of Raw, using a crutch to damage Ziggler's throat:

With The Showoff absent, Rusev and Summer Rae had free reign to bully and terrorize Lana, including last week, when Summer Rae locked Lana in the Accolade. Ziggler made his triumphant return Monday night, coming to the aid of Lana and dispatching Rusev:

Aubrey Sitterson didn't think Ziggler's timing could've been any better:

You knew as soon as Lana dumped Rusev and joined up with Ziggler that the two Superstars were on a crash course for SummerSlam. If anything, it's a surprise the company took this long to pull the trigger.

The two should have a great match Sunday night as long as they're given enough time. Rusev plays the strongman type well in the ring, and Ziggler is one of the best in the business at selling the amount of punishment he has withstood.

With Rusev vs. Ziggler added to the card, SummerSlam is shaping up to be a bigger spectacle than WrestleMania 31.
