Latest on Keenum's Practice Status

Head coach Jeff Fisher said Keenum is still in the NFL's concussion protocol and was limited in practice for the second straight day. He also said Nick Foles will start Sunday, per Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com.

Fisher Comments on Keenum's Injury

Monday, Nov. 23

Fisher told reporters he "didn't see anything" from where he was standing on the sideline when Keenum suffered a concussion, adding that he was "in game management mode."

Fisher also said the team's athletic trainer spoke to Keenum, who said he was OK before the officials told the trainer to leave the field.

NFL Reportedly to Investigate Keenum's Concussion

Monday, Nov. 23

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network (h/t NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal) reported the league will examine why Keenum was not tested for a concussion near the end of the Rams' game with the Ravens.

Keenum did not get taken out of the game after suffering a hit to the head in the fourth quarter (2:30 of the video), and Patrick Daugherty of Rotoworld believes it was ultimately the reason the Ravens were able to register the win:

Keenum's Concussion Reopens Door for Foles

Keenum was a 2012 undrafted free agent after starring in college at the University of Houston. A dream scenario presented itself when he caught on with the Texans and then got a shot to start eight games in his second season.

Despite his slight stature (6'1", 205 lbs) and lack of elite physical tools, there have been times when Keenum has proved himself as a capable stopgap starter. He won two games with the Texans last year after being picked up off waivers from St. Louis. Keenum eventually returned to St. Louis via an offseason trade.

Keenum took over against the Ravens after Foles, who the Rams traded for in the offseason, struggled.
