Just Look at This Big Old Blue Marlin Caught by Anglers off Hawaiian Coast
Images have begun to surface on social media of a giant blue marlin that was recently caught in the waters off the coast of Hawaii.
Weighing in at 1,368 pounds, this Toyota Tacoma with gills falls just eight pounds short of the all-tackle record set in 1982, according to the International Game Fish Association (h/t PeteThomasOutdoors.com).

Charter group Ihu Nui Sportfishing posted video of the 12.5-foot fish being weighed, crediting Guy Kitaoka with bringing the marlin in after an hour-long battle on a 21-foot skiff.
It is an absolute monster:

SportsGrid.com's Jake O'Donnell puts the marlin's age in the range of 18 to 26āvery old for the species.
Unfortunately, Kitaoka brought in the fish with the help of an electric reel, which would exempt it from going down as a world record had the fish outweighed the previous record-holders.
On the bright side, the marlin does not appear to have been illegally poached and/or lured from a protected area to be killed. So that's good news.
