Zaza Pachulia to Be Traded to Mavericks: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction

The Dallas Mavericks struck out in their pursuit of prized free-agent center DeAndre Jordan, per ESPN.com, but the team appears to have found a stopgap solution in the middle. 

According to ESPN.com's Marc Stein, the Mavericks are "closing in" on acquiring big man Zaza Pachulia from the Milwaukee Bucks and absorbing him into the gobs of cap space they have after Jordan reneged on his reported agreement with the club.

According to Spotrac, Pachulia will be paid $5.2 million in the final year of his deal, and NBA.com's David Aldridge believes he was a strong pickup for a Dallas team deprived of frontcourt depth:

During his second season in Milwaukee, Pachulia averaged 8.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals while appearing in 73 games (45 starts). 

At present, the Georgian big man projects as Milwaukee's starting center and one who should be able to combat some of the Western Conference's most skilled bigs.
