Cardale Jones Says Account Was Hacked After Careless Tweets About Women & Sports

A series of insensitive messages regarding women sports fans were posted to Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones' Twitter account Thursday night.

The tweets criticized female fans for favoring teams based on their colors:

Jones later claimed the tweets were not his, but rather his account had been hacked:

One could imagine how these tweets would not be received well by some Buckeyes fans.

According to Ohio State's fall 2014 enrollment numbers, nearly 50 percent of the student body is female. Furthermore, 34 percent of television viewers who tuned in to watch college football during the 2013-2014 season were female, per Nielsen's 2013 Year in Sports Media Report.
