Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins Will Be WWE's Hottest Feud of the Summer

Tom ClarkJun 3, 2015

Brock Lesnar is waiting.  The Beast Incarnate is pacing, biding his time and licking his chops, anticipating the moment when he will return and wage war as only he can.  He has a thirst for vengeance, and it will not be satisfied until he gets his hands on Seth Rollins.

Rollins is the man that cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 31, essentially costing Lesnar the win and his title.  The move instantly elevated Rollins while also opening the door for Lesnar to take a sabbatical from the company.

But that sabbatical will eventually end and though many want to see him feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin for a WrestleMania 32 match, Lesnar has some unfinished business first.

This is a red-hot feud just waiting to happen, mostly because fans know it will be huge. When Lesnar left, he was on the verge of a massive babyface turn that did not realize its full potential.

The crowds wanted it, Lesnar seemed poised to do it and the timing could, perhaps, not have been better. Lesnar was the right star at the right time, and he likely would have gotten over even more had he went full-blown face on The Authority.

If that does indeed happen when he comes back, then he will bring the house down. Considering that turn would happen at the height of Rollins' heel run as WWE world heavyweight champion, fans have the perfect recipe for summer's top rivalry.

Rollins as the WWE world champ

Summertime in WWE has historically always been a very important time.  Daniel Bryan versus The Authority and CM Punk versus the world are just two of the hot feuds that have seen some serious action during the summer months.  Lesnar versus Rollins will be no exception.

The truth is, fans want to see Rollins get crushed.  It's not about Rollins as a talent; he's widely respected for his ability in the ring and his ability to entertain on the mic.  It's about the work he puts in on a weekly basis to get over.

He plays the role of the smarmy and arrogant Superstar to the hilt.  He's protected by Triple H and takes every easy way out he can to both win and escape from harm.  The character he's built is so good at being bad that fans can't wait to see him get bested.

The fact that he is just playing a role is of little consequence, as he truly brings it to life and makes people believe.

The best part of Rollins' run thus far is that no one has really been able to touch him.  He has operated relatively unscathed, always getting by with very little damage done to him. But all of that will change when Lesnar returns.

The angle writes itself.  Rollins is the dastardly heel that needs to be stopped, and Lesnar is the angry babyface that needs to stop him.  When these two finally touch, it will be big for the company and fans.

Rollins will gain a world of experience by being in the ring with Lesnar, and Lesnar will continue to look like the all-powerful monster WWE has booked him as.  For perhaps the first time since his return back in 2012, Lesnar will be responsible for giving the long-term rub to a younger talent.  At the same time, Rollins can learn and find ways to be more entertaining than ever as he tries to dodge The Beast.

It's a win for Lesnar and a definite win for Rollins, who could see this feud become a very pivotal moment in his WWE career.  An impressive program with The Beast Incarnate will do nothing but further establish Rollins as a top-tier main event talent and give him even more momentum heading out of 2015 and into WrestleMania season.

It's also great for his character, who surely wants no part of a rampaging Beast.  This feud will bring out some serious entertainment from Rollins, as even The Authority will probably not be able to protect him this time.

All that's left now is for Lesnar to bring the pain and for Rollins to run for his life.
