Pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao each made weight without any difficulty on Friday afternoon at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in their first public appearance ahead of Saturday’s epic showdown.
In an event with all the glitz and glamour you’d expect from most fights, Mayweather and Pacquiao entered a sold-out arena filled with fans hoping to catch their one and only glimpse of the fighters before the bell rings.

Mayweather, the defending WBC/WBA welterweight champion, weighed in at a ready 146 pounds
Pacquiao, who will put his WBO Welterweight Championship on the line, tipped the scales looking ripped at 145 pounds.
The crowd inside the MGM Grand was decidedly pro-Pacquiao, which was something of a surprise, given Mayweather’s Las Vegas roots and his treatment of the Garden Arena as his virtual home for the last several years.
Whenever Pacquiao appeared the crowd cheered.
Whenever Mayweather appeared the crowd booed.
The two men ended festivities with an electric final stare-down, and all that’s left now is the fighting.
In something of an odd moment, given the tension of the situation, Pacquiao thanked Mayweather during the stare-down.
When asked why he thanked him, Pacquiao responded that he do so for finally making the fight happen.
