Liverpool Have Paid Mario Balotelli £80,000 Per Pass in the Premier League
Mario Balotelli has been a massive letdown since his Premier League return with Liverpool following a disappointing spell with AC Milan.
The Italian's season has been riddled with injuries, but it's been well-documented that he's only scored one Premier League goal as the Reds desperately tried to replace Luis Suarez's goalscoring output.
After another disappointing performance from Liverpool as their faint Champions League hopes went up in flames with a 1-0 defeat to relegation-battlers Hull on Tuesday, Balotelli again fell under the microscope.

The Daily Mail decided to crunch some numbers, specifically Balotelli's not-so-impressive statistics since his Anfield move and what the club have paid for his services, which made the transfer look even worse in hindsight.

The jaw-droppers:
- They've paid £80,000 for each pass he's made. By contrast, his reported wages are £90,000 per week.
- He's cost a staggering £19.24 million for his one Premier League goal. Fellow Italian Graziano Pelle arrived at Southampton over the summer for an estimated £8 million fee and has hit 11 league goals.
Of course, with the numbers beginning to make the rounds, a certain Brendan Rodgers quote regarding the Balotelli buy is coming back to haunt him.
"BR on Balotelli:“This transfer represents outstanding value for the club and I think we have done a really smart piece of business here."
