UFC 102, Matt 'The Mad Man' Randall's Predictions....

Matt RandallAug 28, 2009

This weekend we get to see the UFC for the first time in Portland, which doesn't really make any difference to me up here in Canada. However it might come into play since its The Natural's hometown, but maybe not, Randy is already a fan favorite and seems to be loved wherever he fights.

I'm not going to get into any deep previews or too much reasoning behind any of my picks, anyone on this website could give some good explination why any fighter on this card should and will win. Hell, some people think Fedor would lose to Brock.

Straight to the point, Preliminary card first.

Ed Herman vs. Aaron Simpson

Simpson via (T)KO

This should be a great slugfest, both like to bang, however I think Ed Herman's days are number inside the Octagon, especially if he comes up short against Aaron. Which I believe he will.

Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Chris Tuchsherer

Gonzaga via Armbar

This is a great matchup, Gonzaga coming off a massive KO loss to the next UFC Heavyweight Champion Shane Carwin and Tuchsherer making his Octagon debut. Both have a lot too prove this fight, should be a dandy.

Justin McCully vs. Mike Russow

Russow via (T)KO

Look for Russow to make a splash in the UFC pond (or ocean depending on who you talk to) this Saturday.

Tim Hague vs. Todd Duffee

Hague via (T)KO

Never doubt the Canadian fighters, ever

Nick Cantone vs. Mark Munoz

Munoz via Decision

This one is alomst a toss up in my eyes, Munoz has a lot too prove coming into his second fight, after losing to Matt Hamil by a devistating, yet, surprising head kick.

Marcus Aurelio vs. Evan Dunham

Dunham via RNC

Even though Marcus has the experience going into this one, look for the hometown (or at least home State) to stay undefeated.

Here is the main card, pretty solid fights, a lot of questions will be ansewed tonight, not only about fighters futures but about some pretty important upcoming title fights.

Brandon Vera vs. Krzysztof Soszynski

Soszynski via (T)KO (could possibly be a Kimura)

Vera, although I don't mind him as a fighter, is once again, talking too much and thinks a little to highly of himself (Please refer to Spencer E. Kyle's article). Krzysztof may be taking this fight on short notice, again, but look for him to pull out the W.

Nate Marquardt vs. Demian Maia

Demian Maia via Submission, take your pick, he's got a lot.

Chris Leben vs. Jake Rosholt

Leben  via (T)KO (This could possibly be FOTN)

Keith Jardine vs. Thiago Silva

Silva via (T)KO

Silva's ground game is just too strong for Jardine. Straight Up.

Randy Couture vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueria

Couture via (T)KO

Could easily go to a decision, but I always find it hard to bet against Randy.

PS. The Title is pure jokes, unless I am right.
