United States Women's Home World Cup Kits Don't Have Any Red or Blue

Sean SwabyApr 22, 2015

There's a quintessential aspect missing from the kit that the United States women's national soccer team will wear in the World Cup this summer in Canada: any relevant color whatsoever.

All Americans love the American flag. It's patriotic, dammit.

So, for some reason, Nike's newest kit adventure left out both blue and red, making for a very drab, white-flush look.

Now, United States home kits are typically very white. But the absence of the other two colors featured on the flag and the inclusion of gray stripes and green socks is enough for even the most American-flag-tinted glasses-wearer to roll their eyes.

Past kits haven't always been the most sleek, but at least they weren't lacking the crucial color characteristics.

Early feedback on the new look was less than positive.
