B/R Power Ratings: You, the Writers, Decide!

Matthew HesterSenior Writer IAugust 19, 2009

Hello everyone. As always, I would like to thank all of you for spending a few minutes with me today.

I would first like to say thank you to all of you who have picked up there game with their recent articles. Ross just did a great read on an indy fed. George just did a very nice spotlight on Freddie Blassie.

Last but not least, Hayley has stepped up to the plate and is doing a ROH recap. If I missed anyone, I apologize. I haven’t been on as much due to actually having to work at my job.

I would recommend checking out their reads and supporting them. They worked hard on their projects and deserve the attention.

Not to long ago, I wrote an article with some ideas to help improve the BR wrestling community. One of the ideas I had was a BR power ranking system. It’s a system where we the writers on here pick the top 10 wrestlers for the WWE, TNA, and ROH.

I would like to eventually get the Indy scene involved but first things first.

Here is a rough idea of how this will look after the voting is done.

WWE Top Ten

HHH (30 votes)

Chris Jericho (20 votes)

Randy Orton (19 votes)

Edge (12 votes)

Gail Kim (9 votes)

Jeff Hardy (7 votes)

John Cena (7 votes)

Carlito (6 votes

The Miz (5 votes)

Christian (4 votes)

That is just a rough idea what things will look like after the voting. There will also be a top ten section for ROH and TNA wrestling. There will be one final section for the wrestlers who get the most first place votes.

This will be in a separate section called Pro wrestling’s top 10. How will this be done you may be asking? It’s a very simple process to follow. I will post all the rosters for each respective brand.

You the writers will simply pick a top 10 for each section. This can only work with the help from you guys. So if you guys post or PM me that you want in; be warned, I will be a pest.

The top standings will last for a month. A week before the month ends we will go through the process again. I would like to start this in September if possible. So this means the week before the new month I will post an official poll vote.

Another writer brought up a good point when I brought the idea to this person's attention. What if a wrestler gets hurt during the month?

This was a very good question. The answer is simple, we do nothing. The standings will only change at the end of the month.

This idea may seem a little overwhelming at first. It is really a very simple concept that we should be able to pull off. I think this will power rating system will do wonders for the community.

All the major wrestling publications do them and it is one of their most popular features. As far as I know we would be the first wrestling site to do one. I could be wrong on that though.

That is all for now on the matter. I would ask that you think before you just sign up to vote. Once you do I will be counting on you to vote when it is time to do so. Also please don’t feel as if you are being pressured to do this.

If you don’t want to no one will think any less of you around here. This is all in the spirit of good fun.

I would like to again thank you for spending some time with me today.

As always, have a safe and blessed day.
