Duncan Keith Takes Young Fan with Disabilities for 1st Skate on the Ice
In case you haven’t wrung out those tear ducts of yours this week, Duncan Keith recently spent some time with a fan born with disabilities to accompany her on the first skate of her young life.
The Blackhawks defenseman joined a fan named Cammy for the franchise’s latest installment of its #WhatsYourGoal campaign.
Cammy, who was born without the ability to walk or speak, wanted to skate the ice and score a goal.

Simply put, all sorts of priceless moments occurred in this segment, starting with Keith exhibiting his pride in being this young fan’s favorite hockey player.
“[Cammy’s] parents said nothing would make her happier than to score a goal with an assist from her favorite player…me,” Keith said.

And sure enough, the moment Cammy saw Keith, she couldn't contain herself. The two hit it off immediately and began sharing war stories with the help of Cammy’s custom soundboard.
“I have lost five teeth, how many have you lost?” she asked through the program.
“Oh, I’ve lost 10 teeth,” Keith said.
With the help of a harness, Keith and Cammy took the ice for a quick shootout. Naturally, they emulated the king of stick trickery.
“We’re going to do it like Patrick Kane,” Keith said. “Forehand, backhand…then you give him a chop!”
And with that, the Chicago Blackhawks have proven again why they’re kings of PR and promotional work. Now excuse me while I go dabble my eyes and call loved ones.
Dan is on Twitter. It’s just dust in his eyes.
