On March 10, ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed that Cassel passed his physical and the trade was official.
Joe Buscaglia of WGR in Buffalo provided the financial details:
Alex Marvez of Fox Sports broke down the picks involved:
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network and Dom Cosentino of NJ.com chimed in with some analysis:
"Cassel's Total QBR last year < Geno's. Has more INTs than TDs last 4 yrs. Hasn't had QBR > 50 since '08 (with Pats). WHAT A DEAL BY REX.

Word of the trade comes after the Bills reportedly traded linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for running back LeSean McCoy, per ESPN.com's Adam Schefter and Mike Rodak. That swap also won't become official until the new league year begins March 10.
Cassel has thrown 96 touchdowns and 70 interceptions in 91 games across 10 seasons with the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and Vikings.
His best season came in 2010, when he threw 27 touchdowns and posted a 93.0 quarterback rating for the Chiefs. He'll likely enter a competition with EJ Manuel during training camp and the preseason for the starting job in Buffalo.
Minnesota hopes it has a franchise quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater, so it moved Cassel in exchange for picks to help fortify the roster in other areas.
The main takeaway from the trade, however, is the Bills' continued efforts to revamp the offense under new head coach Rex Ryan.
